Lucid is a photography series that examines an individual's interpretation of persons and narratives through the use of cinematic lighting, symbolism, and the removal of identity. Within these photos are colorful unrevealed stories dramatized by manipulation of the environment and obscured identity. 

 

You can think of these photos as a moment in time, and a single judgment of these individuals interacting within their environments. Without knowing the past or future events of these narratives, it forces the viewer to apply their personal conclusions. 

 

Digital photography has been viewed as the main art form used to capture reality in its most honest representation. These photographs teeter the line between what is true and what is imagined which challenges the basic understanding of photography.

These photographs were carefully crafted with controlled LED lighting and color films. The intent behind this was to manipulate the environment and subjects within the photo to create a sense of skewed reality or a surreal atmosphere. Common themes in my work include ambiguity, surrealism, and physical form.
